Next to a classic look and sound, you're looking at an electric bass that offers satisfying and snug playing comfort and maximum value for money. The smooth C-profile neck has been coupled with a modern fretboard radius and rounded fretboard edges to ensure a fluid and tight feel, while a pair of Super-J Revolution single-coils and a tried-and-tested electronics lay-out combine to shape authentic tone. Also, since this 5-string version comes with a standard B-string, you get the expanded range of five extra deep-diving semi-tones for even more bass.

Een 5 string bas stond al even op mijn wishlist, en na een zoektocht op de Online Bax Music Shop kwam ik terecht bij de Sire 'Marcus Miller' v5-5 Alder Vintage White met passieve elektronica. Die stond 'in voorraad in Goes'.... Dus besloten om zelf gewoon ter plaatse even een kijkje te gaan nemen in de winkel....
Wel, de bas staat nu in mijn blikveld terwijl ik thuis deze review zit te schrijven :-)
Ik heb deze bas nu een kleine week in mijn bezit, en ik ben al sinds de oorspronkelijke doos
openging in de winkel flink onder de indruk !!!! De afwerking laat niets te wensen over, de kleurencombinatie van het Vintage White met Tortoise Shell Pickguard en de 'Edgeless' Roasted Maple hals vind ik gewoonweg magnifiek, wat natuurlijk van persoonlijke voorkeur afhangt, maar ik had al geleerd dat een bas in de eerste plaats goed moet klinken..... maar als het visueel niet aanspreekt, blijft dat toch altijd wat voor ontevredenheid zorgen.... er komt dan nog bij dat nu deze Sire ook nog eens waanzinnig aanvoelt én klinkt, ze kwam bijna perfect gestemd én ge-intoneerd uit de doos !!! Mijn voorkeur gaat wel uit naar Flatwound snaren dus ik heb ik ook een set 5String Thomastik Infeld Jazz Flats aangeschaft, en kijk ik uit naar wanneer de T.I. Flats hun karakteristieke sound gekregen hebben !!!
De prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding van de Sire instrumenten staat bekend als zeer goed maar ik vind het wat zwakjes uitgedrukt!!! En met dan ook nog de combinatiekorting van Bax Music voor de Fazley-koffer, is het bezoekje aan de winkel in Goes weeral héél succesvol geweest. Bax Music Rules!!!
